The cost of an air conditioning system service depends on the equipment you have, what is wrong with it, the total labor repair time and the parts that are needed to perform the service. (Note: Some contractors will charge you a travel time upcharge. Since we have several service locations close to you, we do not add these charges because our travel time is minimal.)
You can see that these factors will produce a wide range of costs. If you want to keep the cost of AC unit servicing as low as possible, we recommend a once yearly regular maintenance.
Regular maintenance does a couple of things:
- It forewarns you of any potential problems in your system that might lead to needing a complete replacement if neglected.
- Once a year maintenance allows us to clean your system’s mechanical parts to keep them in good working order.
- We can check on refrigerant levels and also check for leaks which would cause your system to blow warm air instead of cooled air.
- A regular servicing keeps your system running as efficiently as possible so that it doesn’t waste energy.
If you have a regular maintenance performed on your system prior to warm weather, you will be ready for that first scorching day which catches us all by surprise. You know your air conditioning will work perfectly and it is one less worry you will have dealing with the sudden hot weather.
Regular servicing also helps your equipment stay in good working order longer than equipment that is neglected. A central air conditioning system is not inexpensive and you want it to last as long as it can so you can get the most utility from your investment.
If you are contemplating selling your home soon, you need to have a perfectly functioning air conditioner in order to pass your pre-purchase inspection. If the system is not working efficiently, is dirty or not maintained well, a buyer will negotiate the purchase price lower so that they can do the work that wasn’t done properly before. This amount will be way more than the cost of a regular servicing. Avoiding that hassle is one reason to keep your equipment regularly serviced. You don’t want to lose a good deal because your equipment is in poor shape.
If you haven’t had your a/c equipment serviced in a while, now is a good time to have us do a routine inspection and servicing – before you run into problems and before it becomes an emergency. This will save you money in the long run and you will get more life out of your blower, condenser and mechanicals.
Here at Celestial Air, we work on all makes and model air conditioners, both central air and mini-splits. Schedule a service call and we’ll be glad to get your equipment in tip-top shape at a time that is most convenient for you.
